And For My Next Act, I'm Gonna Make Some Breakfast! [Dec. 7th, 2006|09:26 am]

A week and a half after my hair was brutalized by the hair salon, the damage is finally starting to recede. I've been using protein shampoos and conditioners, using moisturizing treatments, and, as always, avoiding hair driers. The nasty ash colour is washing out, leaving me with honey blonde highlights. Although that is certainly not what I wanted, it's not bad, so I might just stick with it. I just don't want to put my hair through any more abuse than necessary.

Last night I dreamed that I used a fine-tooth comb on my hair, and somehow, this made my hair turn into a tightly-curled, black afro. Whoa....

And now for some links before I get on with my day. Enjoy!

Flatulence forces plane to land: "It is considered polite to light a match after passing gas. Not while on a plane."

Atheists for Jesus: "What was interesting and remarkable about Jesus was not the obvious fact that he believed in the God of his Jewish religion, but that he rebelled against many aspects of Yahweh's vengeful nastiness" (thanks, Justin).

Blood Scarf: "Blood Scarf depicts a scarf knit out of clear vinyl tubing. An intravenous device emerging out of the user's hand fills the scarf with blood. The implied narrative is a paradoxical one in which the device keeps the user warm with their blood while at the same time draining their blood drip by drip."

Road-spraying 'releases spirits': "Despite the prayers, Mr Waihi said the exercise was non-religious...."

Oggpoi: Dear Santa. I've been a good girl and want these for Christmas. Oh yeah, and world peace, too.

Cat in a Bowl: Cats do silly things (thanks, gha5t).

The Parlor DSL: If chat rooms were real....

Announcing the Carl Sagan memorial blog-a-thon: Why? Because Carl was cool, and I miss him.

I hear they can take rough handling, too, which is one of the biggest reasons I want 'em. I'm rough on my poi, with all the kicks....

The artist doesn't know his science

That blood scarf would never work. It would actually make you colder.

Re: The artist doesn't know his science

If it fed the blood back in, it would be good for summer!

There are more efficient/safer radiating technologies. ;-)

Yes, but they're not as appealing to angsty goths.

Sure, but this looks cooler than growing elephant ears.

(We're all angstygoths here!)

Most of our butterflies would be good candidates for the ‘beautiful’ category, but the brimstone’s bright simplicity is spectacular, and it brings such good tidings.

Re: The artist doesn't know his science

I disagree.

I think it could make you quite warm, so long as you hooked it up to someone else while you wore it.

Fun and games for goths

Hook'em up and exchange scarves, then go for a walk. The first one to pass out loses.

Funny quote
